Preschool Head Teacher – YMCA Crimmins Learning Center, Princeton, NJ

The Princeton Family YMCA seeks a full time Preschool Head Teacher to launch and lead YMCA’s new Crimmins Center Preschool program for 15 students. The Head Teacher creates a welcoming and safe setting in which children ages 3 to 4 years old are successfully growing, learning and thriving.  The Head Teacher builds positive relationships and classroom culture; supports students’ social and emotional development; provides positive guidance and discipline; and nurtures each child’s individual character with acceptance and love.   The Head Teacher supervises a Preschool Instructional Aide and the Preschool Family Liaison/PYA Coordinator to strengthen student-parent-teacher relations.    The successful candidate will be at least 21 years of age; possess a valid New Jersey P-3 Certificate; have a Bachelor’s degree in education; ideally experience working with children ages 0-5 years old; minimum one year experience in Pre-K Program; and must have completed Creative Curriculum 1 and Creative Curriculum Gold training successfully prior to start date.

Preschool Instructional Aide – YMCA Crimmins Learning Center, Princeton, NJ

The Princeton Family YMCA seeks a Preschool Instructional Aide (IA) to assist the Preschool Head Teacher in the implementation of classroom activities for the YMCA’s new Crimmins Center Preschool program for 15 students.   The IA works with individual students or small groups of students, under the direction of the teacher, to reinforce learning of material and/or skills introduced by teacher; guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work; reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students; and supports other classroom activities to ensure a positive learning experience for all.  The successful candidate must be at least 21 years of age; hold or be eligible for a Mercer County substitute certificate (minimum of 60 college credits); have some training in and successful experience with the education of students; knowledge of learning styles, teaching strategies and techniques; knowledge of student growth and development and appropriate classroom practices; and an ability to relate to students in a patient and caring way while demonstrating humor.

The Princeton Family YMCA is currently looking for customer service driven, multi-tasking individuals to work at a fast paced Member Service Area. Computer knowledge, a great attitude, outgoing personality and a big smile are a must! Responsibilities include successful daily operations of the Member Service of Fitness Center Desks and to troubleshoot membership operations. The job will also be responsible to assist with member check-in, program registrations, billing information and have positive interaction with our members. He/she will complete all other duties and projects as assigned or required.
